Soccer

Soccer, also known as football in most countries outside North America, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net, which is guarded by a goalkeeper. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with goalposts at each end. Players primarily use their feet to control and pass the ball, although they can also use their heads and torsos. The sport is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

Soccer is one of the most popular sports globally, played and watched by millions of people. It has a rich history and numerous leagues and tournaments, with the FIFA World Cup being one of the most prestigious competitions in international soccer. The sport emphasizes skills such as passing, dribbling, and tactical awareness, and encourages teamwork and communication among players.
